Gaminik Privacy Policy
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Gaminik apps for Android, iOS / iPadOS, macOS and Windows (together, the "Service"). Where a practice applies to only one platform, this is stated explicitly.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that We collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which are accessible at Gaminik unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
For a better experience, while using our Service, We may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. Depending on how you use the Service, we collect the following:
The app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you.

Use of Screenshots and Images in Translation
During the use of our screen translation feature, we capture the content of your screen (which may include your personal data). On Android this is done with the system screen capture service. On iOS / iPadOS it is done with the system screen broadcast that you start yourself; the captured frames are passed only to the Gaminik app on the same device, are never sent over the network by the broadcast extension, and are deleted after processing. On macOS it is done with the system screen recording permission and only for the screen area or window you choose to translate. On Windows it is done with the Windows screen capture interfaces, only for the screen area or window you choose to translate. These screenshots are temporarily stored in your device's memory. We attempt to identify and read all text present in these screenshots. Upon successful text recognition, if you've opted for the Online translation engine, the recognized text will be transmitted via a secure encrypted channel to our servers, and then forwarded to our third-party translation service providers (such as Google) for processing. Upon completion of the translation task, all relevant data, including both the original text and its translation, will be immediately purged from our servers. We do not retain your translation records, nor will we provide or disclose such data to any other third parties.
On Windows, text recognition is always performed locally on your device; the Windows app does not upload screenshots for text recognition.
If you choose the "Cloud Text Recognition Engine" for text extraction, your screenshot or image will be transmitted over an encrypted connection to our text recognition server. The image is processed only within the server's memory and is permanently erased from memory once recognition is complete. Throughout this entire process, your image will not be stored or disclosed in any form. The subsequent translation of the extracted text follows the secure procedure described above. If you choose a local text recognition engine instead, text recognition happens entirely on your device.
We also offer a standalone Photo / Image Translation feature. When utilizing this feature, we access your camera to capture a photo or retrieve a photo or file you select, try to identify and read all text within it (which may include your personal data), and then translate it following the same secure procedure as described for the Online translation engine. If translation history is turned on, the original image and the translated result are stored in your device's local storage. When you choose to delete this translation task or clear your history, the image and the text are immediately and permanently deleted from your device.
For each translation task:
Web Reader (iOS / iPadOS)
The iOS / iPadOS app includes a reader for opening web pages (for example, comics or novels) and translating them. When you translate a page, the text of the page and the text recognized from its images are sent for translation following the same procedure described above. Images on the page are downloaded by the app on your device for this purpose. Bookmarks, recently visited pages and translated images are stored only on your device; you can delete them, and clear website data (such as cookies and sign-ins of the websites you visit), at any time in the reader settings. Websites you open in the reader are operated by third parties and are governed by their own privacy policies.
Offline Features (Windows)
The Windows app can download offline translation models and speech-recognition models from our website. Offline translation and audio transcription run entirely on your device. When you use audio transcription, the app records from the microphone or the system audio output that you select, only while transcription is running; the recording is processed locally and is not uploaded. The Gaminik Enterprise edition for Windows works fully offline: it does not require an account, does not send translation content or statistics to us, and performs text recognition and translation locally.
Local Text Recognition Server (Windows)
If you turn on the "Text Recognition Server" in the Windows app (off by default), the app accepts text recognition requests from other devices on your network that present the access key shown in the app. Images and results exchanged this way are encrypted with that key, are processed locally and are not sent to us. Turn this feature off when you no longer need it.
Private Translator
If you configure a "Private Translator" (a translation server that you run yourself), the text to be translated is sent directly from your device to the server address you entered, encrypted with the security key you set. This traffic does not pass through our servers, and we do not receive it.
Information Stored on Your Device
Translation history, your translator and reader settings, imported fonts and caches are stored on your device. Translation history is stored in an encrypted database; on Windows, translation history is kept for 10 days, and settings and sign-in information are stored in encrypted files in the app's data folder. You can turn off or clear translation history in the app at any time, and you can export or import your settings yourself; the exported settings file does not contain your account credentials.
Log Data
We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app We collect data and information on your device called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics. On Android and iOS / iPadOS, Log Data and usage statistics are collected through Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics; on macOS and Windows they are collected by our own statistics server. On iOS / iPadOS and macOS this collection starts only after you agree to this Privacy Policy and does not include your account ID. On Windows, usage statistics and crash reports include your device identifier and, when you are signed in, your account ID, so that we can investigate problems you report. This data is not used to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. The iOS / iPadOS app does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA).
Permissions on iOS / iPadOS and macOS
The app asks for a permission only when you use the feature that needs it, and you can change your choice in the system settings at any time.
On Windows, the app does not use a system permission prompt, but uses the following capabilities for the features you turn on:
Cookies
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.
This Service does not use these "cookies" explicitly. However, the app may use third-party code and libraries that use "cookies" to collect information and improve their services. Websites that you open in the iOS / iPadOS web reader may also set their own cookies, which are stored on your device and can be cleared in the reader settings. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
We want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to their Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and We cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Delete Your Personal Data
You have the right to delete the Personal Data that We have collected about You. Our Service may give You the ability to delete certain information about You from within the Service. You can delete your account and personal data at any time by logging into your account (if you have one), and going to the Settings section, and tapping on "Delete Account":
After you request deletion, your account enters a 7-day cooling-off period, during which you can cancel the request by signing in again (on Windows, by contacting us through Feedback). After this period, your account and the personal data associated with it are permanently deleted. Please note, however, that We may need to retain certain information when we have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.

This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Children's Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case We discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, We immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that We will be able to do the necessary actions.
